Summer is a time of harvest. If you go foraging you are likely to find plenty of wild food like mushrooms, berries and fruit.
Summer Foraging
There is plenty to pick in the summer, as long as the weather is variable. For mushrooms, you will need to wait until it rains for a couple of days straight before you might be able to spot some specimens.
Look out for these edibles on your next walk:
- blackberries
- prunes
- russulas
- field mushrooms
- boletes
- fairy ring mushrooms
- damsons
- lime tree seeds (see recipe for home made coffee substitute using lime seeds)
