Looking for a pizzeria in Deptford? If you need your pizza fix in SE13, Alla Salute! has come to the rescue
I don’t know about you but I have a Goldilocks approach to pizza: it has to be “just right”. No deep pan pizza (that’s focaccia in my book), not too thin (that’s a wrap) and with the right crispiness.
Alla Salute! brings together the minds behind Salentina, the specialists in fresh, homemade Puglian food. With pizza now as a permanent feature on the menu alongside pasta and salad dishes (plus many seasonal recipes), pizza lovers in the Deptford area are well catered for.

Alla Salute! Great Vibe, Great Food
Draught beer and Italian wines, plus cocktails and hot drinks accompany the menu. I tried Koln beer and it was very nice.
I couldn’t resist the homemade bread, with a lovely airy texture.
The pizza is to die for, with a dough leavened for more than 24 hours to guarantee it’s light, crispy and easily digestible. You can choose from various traditional toppings plus a few specialties appositely created by the chef.
I chose the ham and mushroom pizza – just what the doctor ordered! The crust had a delightful brittleness and the toppings were tasty without being too salty. Healthy ingredients and preparation are key here.
A friend chose capricciosa pizza and sbriciolata cake which she loved (I had overdosed on bread earlier so I didn’t have space for dessert).
The atmosphere is homely, warm and welcoming. I went on a Friday and the place was buzzing with plenty of locals. I am not local to the area but the call of pizza is simply too irresistible for me!
