Secret Beauty Mission: Rejuvenation Working Group in Frankfurt

I am a huge advocate of face massage, in particular, but also of dry body brushing and other rejuvenating techniques that keep both face and body looking radiant and beautiful.

I was invited to take part in an international rejuvenation working group with health and beauty experts in Frankfurt because of my expertise in face and body rejuvenation.

Rejuvenation

Being the first time I travelled to Frankfurt, my impressions from the plane were of a flurry of wind farms, a smattering of rivers and the welcoming green of extensive woods.

I hadn’t been to Germany since my blink-and-you’ll-miss-it round trip to Düsseldorf to see a concert a few years ago.

I was honoured to provide my consultancy services to come up with recommendations on rejuvenation on behalf of a global healthcare company.

BrainstormingMy role was to give a presentation and contribute ideas on the future of rejuvenation taking into account my experience as a therapist and writer covering health, beauty and lifestyle.

What is Rejuvenation?

Rejuvenation is about revealing newer, fresher skin under a layer of older skin cells: you can boost the production of new collagen and elastin through the mechanical action of massage and exfoliation to achieve a radiant complexion.

In addition to physical intervention, I would suggest embracing meditation as it is one of the best forms of holistic rejuvenation for both mind and body. As an added bonus to regular meditation you will notice an improvement in your sleep: sleep is a great ally for skin rejuvenation and skin beauty.

Relaxation has a beneficial effect on the brain, which is responsible for the production of hormones and the correct functioning of the immune system. Therefore, we can influence our state of health and combat inflammation (one of the main causes of ageing and disease) by lowering our stress levels and therefore our stress hormones.

Ageing is only 30% dictated by genes, while the rest is related to lifestyle: this is very empowering as it means we can be take an active role in reversing the signs of ageing.

Finally, let’s remember that sugar is the enemy of the skin as it is one of the most ageing anti-nutrients, as nutritionist Angelique Panagos explains in my book Strictly Walk Slimmer.

Notes

25 Hours The GoldmanI stayed at the 25 Hours The Goldman Hotel Frankfurt, the venue for the working group. Their meeting room, Wohnzimmer, was a great environment for creative thinking with plenty of natural light, wifi, screens and flip charts.
