Clare Balding in Conversation with Paul Merton and Danny Baker

On Saturday 4th October 2014 I went along to one of the events organised by Blinkbox, courtesy of The Daily Telegraph at Cadogan Hall.

National treasure Clare Balding hosted a conversation with broadcasters Paul Merton and Danny Baker.

Arriving on stage to the tune of These Boots Were Made for Walking, Clare took the opportunity to introduce her new book Walking Home.

I loved her first memoir My Animals and Other Family, and was in hysterics at her book reading at Damian Barr’s Literary Salon a few years back.

Naturally engaging, Clare humbly and apologetically asked us to buy her book, which was very endearing.

She made her guests feel completely at ease, and that comes from her natural ability to befriend people immediately.

While Danny Baker was self-congratulatory and overly verbose, Paul Merton was witty and disclosed some personal details of tough times he went through after some malaria medication left him completely disorientated.

I know which memoir I am going to buy!
