Ironically located opposite Pizza Express on Dean Street, Pizza Pilgrims is the place to be this summer. Soho looks like Rimini on a warm summer evening with people promenading in the streets checking each other out. Trendy Soho people walking past Pizza Pilgrims were eyeing out my pizza with envy.
I had the delicious pizza with nduja, spicy Calabrian sausage, which had a nice kick to it balanced with refreshing basil.
The piece the resistance was dessert: you must try the Nutella pizza ring, a genius combo of pizza dough slathered in Nutella and dusted with vanilla powdered sugar. If I wasn’t concerned about my waistline I would have it every day for breakfast!
On a geeky Italian note: Pizza Pilgrims have Chinotto which is not easy to find in London.
The atmosphere is buzzy and friendly, great for a night out with friends. These guys are pizza wizards and although they covered many miles in their pizza pilgrimage, they will go far.
