Midsummer rooftop cinema dream

You could choose to go to a boring summer holiday in Spain with yawn-inducing sea and sun and mind-numbing scantily clad bodies sashaying their way past you on the promenade.

But no! Be an outdoor culture vulture, popcorn in hand, headsets hugging your ears and blanket on your lap, and watch a movie on a rooftop in London.

I was the lucky winner of a twitter competition by Rooftop Film Club (see @rooftopfilmclub) and I went along to Bussey Building’s screening of Shame with Michael Fassbender (hashtag: #holyfassbender, darlings!).

Ok so we had a light drizzle of rain towards the end of the film that caused some mild panic among say 10 cinemagoers, but the rest of us stayed put, hoodie on, and we were totally fine.

The setting is beyond cool in a quirky building just off Peckham Rye and the views are to die for.

If South London is too far to reach, the club runs screenings in other 3 corners of London:

Queen of Hoxton (Shoreditch), The Roof Gardens (Kensington), Bussey Building (Peckham Rye) and Netil House (London Fields) until 30th September 2013.

I had a fantastic time and I do recommend snapping up a ticket but hurry as shows get sold out fast.
