Back to Bodega! Perfect tunes and perfect tuna

By Paola Bassanese

Monday blues? What Monday blues? Mondays are funky at La Bodega Negra. Back to the cafe after a few weeks of first trying it (see my previous review), I needed to get another fix of eclectic music and delicious Mexican food.

Working our way through the menu in reverse order, my friend and I started with a main and finished with a starter. As you do.

Our food choices:

– me: pork belly tacos, roast potatoes with mole sauce (chocolate and chilli! With potatoes!)
– my friend: mushroom quesadillas

We both had the same starter, the tuna tostadas. The tuna was marinaded in what I can only describe as a heavenly sauce, accompanied by guacamole on a crispy corn tortilla.

Both the tostadas and tacos were delicious, so tasty and satisfying.

We finished the meal with a shot of Reposado – because of its medicinal properties of course as advised to by our very knowledgeable Bodega tequila conoisseur.

Another night to remember with perfect tunes and perfect tuna.
