Review: Taste of India Restaurant, Drummond Street

By Paola Bassanese

I don’t know about you but a sandwich for me is not lunch. And on a Friday we all need a bit of a treat so I went with blogger extraordinnaire Lilinha for lunch at a local Indian restaurant near Euston. Lilinha was quite impressed with my “homework” as I did explore the area to find out more before our lunch meeting.

Drummond Street is the equivalent of Brick Lane but with an NW1 postcode. Popular with office workers, Drummond Street is lined with plenty of Indian restaurants and a couple of small independent shops.

We chose the lunch set menu, a bargain at £5.95 (prices correct on 15th February 2013): you get four courses, all presented together. They include: a bhaji, a vegetable and a meat curry, pilau rice and rice pudding.

The spices were mild and fragrant and blended beautifully. We really enjoyed our meal and we are definitely going back.

There’s no website for this restaurant yet, so this is their address and phone number:
