“Pesantissimo” is the Italian word for very heavy.
However the food is fresh and prepared with care and loving attention. Primrose Hill is probably one of the best areas in London for dining out and it offers plenty of good restaurants and cafes (although I was sad to find out that Russian tea room and restaurant Troika has closed down).
Pesantissimo has a nice and varied menu of Italian classics including pasta and pizza, and that’s what my friend and I chose.
I went for a lovely pizza topped with rocket, ham, mushrooms, pepperoni and olives and my friend had the mushroom pasta in a creamy sauce. The service was friendly and the decor is modern and cozy, with clever use of mirrors to make the restaurant look roomier.
After the meal we both felt pesantissime, but happy!
