You know the scenario: you work hard for your money so when you go out for dinner every detail counts. From the welcome at the door, to the food, the atmosphere and the price, we the customers are becoming more demanding, and rightly so.
In the competitive world of dining, restaurants are being kept on their toes and need to surpass clients’ expectations. Well, ladies and gentlemen, The Albannach in Trafalgar Square offered all of this and more.
First of all, I was impressed with their confirmation policy: I booked online through Toptable and a few hours before the meal I received a call from The Albannach’s reservation department saying they were looking forward to my party coming to their restaurant.
Then, at arrival my friend and I were greeted with warm professionalism and were taken to our table.
And what about the food? Superb, exceptional and wonderful can’t even start to explain how delightful the meal was.
I had the scallops with Parma ham and spring onion for starter. The scallops were cooked perfectly, were tender and lightly golden. The Parma ham was crispy and the spring onion sweet and tender.
The black sea bream had a fantastic crispy skin and lay on a bed of braised fennel. Perfection.
Dessert was mixed berries with cream, oats and brandy. Leave the brandy out and replace cream with thick yoghurt and you could have that dessert as a lovely breakfast.
I’ve never been happier after a meal. Congratulations to the Albannach for getting everything spot on and providing healthy foods cooked beautifully.
